Galloway Cottage, a look inside
A front view of Galloway Cottage from the field
Galloway Cottage is situated in the pretty and quiet village of Monreith, in the county of Galloway on the south west coast of Scotland. The majority of this little hamlet is located along the road, looking over green fields to the sea. Monreith is a peaceful and tranquil place to stay, with friendly neighbours, wonderful views and walks right on your doorstep. In just 4 minutes you can be beside the sea!
The cottage is a 4 person dwelling, with porch, sitting/dining room, front facing double bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and chalet containing 2 single rooms plus wc. It is decorated in a cosy and comfortable manner and while you may not find all the latest mod-cons, it provides everything you need for a seaside escape.
The bedroom is a good size with double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers. The front windows of the cottage are double glazed, keeping it quiet and warm, although the road through Monreith is never very busy.
The sitting/dining room features a sofa, armchair, dining table and chairs. Here you can watch the world go by or cuddle up on the sofa and watch something on the widescreen tv. There is also a dvd player and surround sound. You can choose from a crackling open fire or a coal effect electric one to keep you warm and comfortable.
The kitchen features a breakfast bar, stools, cooker, fridge and toaster. Along with the crockery and utensils you will find in the kitchen, you will find extra glasses etc in the small larder off the kitchen.
The timber chalet provides additional space and privacy away from the main house for those that want it. Here you will find two single bedrooms and WC. One of the bedrooms has a lovely view into the garden and in to the fields beyond. The exterior has been recently restored and new windows installed.
The garden is a good size with stepped lawn, garden shed, pear trees and the occasional cow popping its head over the garden wall from the fields beyond!
